Karaoke Machine with DVD Video (VJ) plus Music ?
There are a few Laptop based systems that will
display lyrics via MP3+G but you all want more, and quite rightly
so.............
(MP3+G are compressed CD+G Discs that have been
transformed by using utility programs readily available for just a few
pounds) The principle is to insert the CD+G disc into the computer and let
the software convert it into MP3+G (just like MP3 files used by ipods and other
types of personal players. But the difference is that the lyrics can be
displayed using a program on your computer.

various software and hardware based systems come and go, from PCDJ to the overpriced 00DJ
laptop system. These were running with a program called PC DJ
and PC KJ. The problem with this type of program is that you have to buy
two products to play your audio and karaoke files. Or as I did initially
fork out almost 3 grand to get things working. Don't get me wrong PC DJ
and 00DJ are great program's, laptops and work fine, as a 00DJ owner

What are Numark offering
you as a customer?
''The whole world and his wife
own a reasonable lap top computer somewhere, nothing really flashy is
needed. I'm using a 2 year old bog standard lap top with 1 gig of ram.
Its
something that I drag around exhibitions and use it for the emk web site or
trying to pick up the odd bargain off ebay in a drunken stupor late in the
evening.
The lap top cost me about 700 quid runs
like a dog when I don't need it to, but does the job. But as soon as I
loaded the free version of Que software it worked flawlessly even with quite
large files

can be run on its own, I find I have to use the mouse to get around the
program, which is fine until I discovered the Numark DMC2
controller.

life, I can control all the music, karaoke and video without the need of a

pop up window appears on the monitor screen which I can drag onto a tv

windows of the controller, and get this, It automatically calculates the beats

controller lights up, every function is visible on the panel.
Jingles, Record
your own jingles to play alongside songs easily.
Karaoke
Ok, there's a slight
catch. The software included does play the mp3+g files in the popup
window. The downside is that you can't expand the window to full screen
in this version of software, but it does demonstrate the power of the
controller and the software.
